The staple of any great dish is a good sauce and stir-fry is no exception! Below you is a quick recipe for Mic's favorite stir-fry sauce. All of the ingredients should be available at your nearest grocery store. There are links to some of the less common ingredients.
What You'll Need
1/3 cup soy sauce (low-sodium)
1/2 tablespoon chili paste (Huy Fong Foods brand)
1/6 cup organic orange juice
1/2 tsp ground ginger
4 tablespoons agave nectar (you can also use brown sugar)
2 tablespoons organic rice wine vinegar (Marukan brand)
Instructions
Starting with the soy sauce, combine all ingredients. Be sure to taste the sauce along the way to make sure it is the right consistency and meets your spice/taste needs.
You should taste less salt and more of a balanced, sweet, mildly spicy flavor with a thin consistency.
Serve with stir fry and even use as a spring roll dipping sauce!
Tips!
Less is more with soy sauce. Even though it is the base, you want to make sure it does not over power the sauce.
The chili paste is very spicy! I would recommend starting with a small amount (even less than the 1/2 tablespoon) and slowly adding in more as you taste the sauce.
