Quick & Easy Eats: French Bread Pizza

Pizza is by far my favorite food to eat! This French bread pizza recipe is quick and fun to make. You can use your favorite toppings, and experiment with sauces and cheeses!





Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Servings: 2-4 people


What You'll Need

  • 1 French bread loaf

  • 1 package of vegan sausage (I use Tofurky's Plant-Based Italian Sausage)

  • 1 8oz package of vegan cheese

  • 1 15oz can of tomato sauce

  • 1 tablespoon of ground garlic

  • 1 tablespoon of onion powder

  • 1 tablespoon of oregano

  • 1 tablespoon of basil

  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon of fennel seeds

  • 2 teaspoons of agave

  • 1 green pepper

  • 1 can of sliced olives

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Chop your sausage and cook per package instructions.

  3. Cut your green pepper into small slices or diced pieces.

  4. Combine tomato sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, fennel, agave, red pepper flakes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. You can either preheat your sauce or wait to cook it all at once with the pizza.

  5. Starting with your sauce, start adding your toppings to your French bread load (sauce, cheese, sausage, peppers, and olives).

  6. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes or until your cheese is starting to brown. Be careful not to burn your pizza!

  7. Serve immediately.


Tips!


  1. You can make enough sauce, peppers, and sausage for a few days but you'll need to bake everything as needed.

  2. You can also add fresh veggies or herbs such as spinach or fresh basil.

  3. Depending on your French bread, you'll have to check the pizza a few times while baking to make sure the bread does not get too hard.
